Herald St and Ehrlich Steinberg are pleased to present the group exhibition, We’ll Be Your Mirror for Condo London 2024 with Markus Amm, Alexandra Bircken, Josh Brand, Beth Collar, Coleman Collins, Michael Dean, Trix & Robert Haussmann, Emi Mizukami, Joan Nelson, Joel Otterson, Lou Lou Sainsbury, and Jeffrey Stuker.
Inspired by Herald St’s two-part exhibition, I’ll Be Your Mirror, which took place at the gallery’s East London space a decade prior, We’ll Be Your Mirror presents artists examining doubles, replicas, mirroring and repetition. We’ll Be Your Mirror includes Trix & Robert Haussmann, the sole re-participants from Herald St’s original 2013 exhibition. Their re-inclusion and 2022 piece, Nr. 9 Square divided, a wall-based sculpture made from mirror-glass and carpet, tethers the two exhibitions and the otherwise new group of artists.
Following Condo’s core concept of the host/guest dichotomy, We’ll Be Your Mirror embraces ideas of exchange and reciprocity originating from Herald St and Ehrlich Steinberg’s collaboration, with the formal themes explored in the exhibition reflecting the recursive nature of the project itself.
